Personal: Got a couple of inches of snow this morning and wondering if I need to put on my big ol' boots for my walk to work. They aren't too sexy, but I hate to have wet socks when I get to work for my shift. Looking forward to getting thru the work week though - my hubby and I have planned a date night on Friday night. Dinner and a movie...and then Saturday night the gals are planning to go out dancing, minus the husbands. So that will be a good time. I will take my camera along.

NutriSystem: They have been in touch with me and my first shipment of food will be here by weeks end. Do I start Monday? I am looking forward to it, but also wondering if its going to be like astronaut food? Scary thought that the food does not need to be frozen or put in the fridge, hmmm - I am sure you can see my concern and curiosity with the whole thing. I will share the shipment when it arrives.

I hope you wore your boots!

That IS a surprise that no refrigeration is required!

When I did Australia's "Lite N Easy" program (where the meals get delivered to your door) you had to have a $5 deposit down on the 'foam' box packed with dry ice if you weren't going to be home to accept the delivery.

Everything in there pretty much needed to be put in a freezer or the fridge. There might of been sachets of pancake mix or some little mini tubs of jam that didn't need a fridge..but the rest needed it.

Now I know why you said "astronaut food". Hmmmm. I'll be keen to get more info from you post-food-delivery!

Your date with hubby sounds good.. and I hope you enjoy the night with the girls!

Exciting, let us know when it arrives. Yeah, there is a lot of food on the shelves of Japanese supermarkets that would be refridgerated in other countries and then just never go bad! I try not to think too much about it.

We got some snow here today too :(

I haven't heard back from them about my second month of NutriSystem so I dunno if it's coming or not.

well, you could always just bring extra socks to change into.

A friend of mine tried nutrisystem in the fall and she said it tasted ok, but apparently there is soy as an ingredient in all the food. She has a difficult time digesting soy so she had to stop. Hope it settles well for you!! Looking forward to hearing what you think of it.

Love your blog...haven't commented before but felt I should now! I've tried Nutri-system before. Not a bad plan for the price. You get a big shipment of food (which is a bit overwhelming at first) but it's easy to follow. Some items are WAY better than others. Everything has a lot of soy added to up the amount of protein. However, this soy can be REALLY hard to digest since it is in just about every food item. Good luck, and get used to living with the 'Nutri-toots'. :-)

Good luck with your nutri system. I'll check back to see how it goes for you.
I miss date night. Us old fogies never go out and it sucks! I do go out with girlfriends once in a blue moon. But kids, ya know, keeps us home.

Thanks for commiserating ... although I feel bad complaining about lack of light and winter blues when you have much more severe weather to contend with. Hope you wore those big ol' boots Christine or at least took to work extra socks!!!

Your weekend plans sound great. A date night is a great thing, as is a night out with the girls. Hope you have a blast.

It is curious that the food doesn't need to be refrigerated. What the hell is it made of? Anyway, if it helps you stay on track that's good. Can't wait to hear how things work out. I'm sure it'll be fab.

Will be interesting to see the food when it arrives.

Brrr - sounds cold over there!! We have the opposite at the moment which I don't mind in the least.

Have a fun date night:-)

N/S is the same type of food as the stuff you find in the frozen case at the market, except that it is freeze-dried instead of frozen.

Plus, N/S does not include your fruits & veggies or dairy. You have to get that on your own.

I don't mean to be a hater, but it's actually more cost effective to just buy frozen meals like Lean Cuisine or Smart Ones. Also, a reason that I prefer WW over N/S is that N/S doesn't teach you to control your food intake. Everyone I know on N/S gained their weight back when they went off of the program.

With WW, they tell you that it's a *FOREVER* program. I'll be counting points until the day I'm in the grave.

Here's hoping better luck with you, though. I really do hope you succeed!

So are you just shutting off the refrigerator? Sounds like great weather for hockey.

It sounds like you have a GREAT weekend planned. It should be fun and we want to see pictures!!!!

Nutrisystem, I tried it and didn't care for the food. I thougt it was bland and tasted like cardboard. I'm sorry to share that..I hope you find it to your liking! You will be successful anyway your mouth wanders!
