Has anyone had troubles with their sciatic nerve? I could not even bend over at work last night it was so painful. I did fall on the ice on the way to work the day prior - would that have had something to do with the start of this? I couldn't go to work today, hanging on the couch with my heating pad. Any information you have would be greatly appreciated folks. It is terrible.

oooooooooooowwwwwwwwwww. i envy you with your cold weather and snow.. but the ice im afraid.. eep! I'd say the ice slip has 99% to do with the back pain! ouch..
take it easy!!!!
Yeah... I would definitely bet the fall had to do with your current pain, but unfortunately the only thing I know about it would be what I found in wikipedia (I love that site!)... hope you feel better soon!
awww poor girl! I don't envy you. Sciatic nerve problems are sooo painful! my advice... acupuncture... it did wonders... That was the only thing that made it better (lol i didn't do the exercises that the psysiotherapist made you do...) Hope you feel better soon!!!
I've had problems with it before. Dring my pregnancies and also a bout with it (sciatica) about 12 years ago. If it persisits you may want to visit a chiropractor. It can be very painful (as you well know....!) Keep up with the ice and take some Ibuprophen (not tylenol - which isn't an anti-inflamatory.) Good luck - hope you feel better soon!
I had sciatica while pregnant and OMG it hurt like a mother. Wish I had some advice. I just whined and moaned all the time. Thank goodness hubby didn't pack his bags.
SENDING HUGS SUGAR!!!!
Oh you poor thing - I'm lucky enough not to have suffered but know people who have and it's certainly not all pleasant. Rest up and hope you feel better soon. Love Z xx
try some arnica cream on the area, arnica homeopathic sublingual tablets and call your chiropractor. Had this when I was pregnant and was adjusted few times and found huge relief. Gentle stretching helps to, on back bring knee to chest and down. Be gentle to yourself and rest too. good luck.
had horrible sciata issues with my pregnancy. I went to a massage and she did pressure point massage-it hurt so bad during, but boy did it help!! She even took a marker and marked where the pressure points were so my husband could do what she did!!! I hope it gets better SOON! (take warm baths too)
I used to. I'd fallen in the tub and landed on my right butt cheek. I could barely walk without shooting pains down my left leg. I ended up having to go to the chiro three times a week for a while ... but now it's great!
