Holy Cow Batman

Went to the casino with my brother and wasted a ton of money in the VLT machines. And then my brother had an idea that we try the Blackjack table. Why hadn't anyone told me about this amazing game??!!! So first hand - I win $3. Second hand $3. Hmm, up my beat. Next I win $4, then another $4. Hmm, this is really nice. Then this old man sits down beside me, puts $20 down for his own bet, and then bets another $20 on MY hand! Didn't know that you could do that. I guess he was watching me prior and thought that I was a lucky little thang - he made about $120 off of me, continuing to bet on me! I told him that he was taking a chance cuz I didn't know what the hell I was doing. He laughed and said that he felt I was "his lucky penny."

Hmm.

Well I walked out with about $60 extra in my pocket - and kinda blushing cuz this old guy thought I was cute. Ha. My brother said, "We gotta get you out of here...your sugar daddy has made enough money now.." - Oh what a blast it was. Will for sure be playing that again.

Beotch at work update. Have been killing her with kindness. I love doing that. I am good. Snicker, snicker. I realized to be the bigger person is best. Also spoke with my hubby and he says that it just gives someone too much power if you let them upset you.

Nutrisystem blog:

It arrived today. Wow, did it ever. Holy hell there is food everywhere. Breakfast, dinner, supper, snacks, cookies, biscuits. A little overwhelmed I would have to say. So first thing I notice is selection. There is so much to choose from for every meal. Another thing I notice is SODIUM. Wow. Lots. In everything. So yes of course they encourage 8 glasses of water a day - eeks. Another thing that I am a bit worried about is that all I got was a box of food. No guidance. No paper work, no "hi, welcome to the program...this is how you should get started..." - hmm. I have contacted my NutriSystem coach gal and told her, obviously I hope this was just a mistake because no one would know what the hell to do with all this food.

I plan to get started soon. But I do need some more information before I should get started.

So yeah - where the hell do I put it all? LOL! I am going to have food hidden in the wash machine/dryer/laundry baskets for the next little while.

Can we talk calories for a minute? If a gal is 30 years old, is 5 foot 8, weighs approx 200lbs - what the heck calories should she be eating? What is the lowest she should be eating? What does the body need to maintain? What does the body need to lose? I know that I should just Google it - but I was thinking that other people might benefit from some comments and help. I know that I have to add to these NurtiSystem meals to have a balanced day - but curious what numbers I should be looking at. I think that I will sign back up with FitDay, I think that might be similar to what NutriSystem would have sent me.

Hmmm...I'm curious about the calorie discussion. I never know, and I worry how my ignorance could factor into my weight loss.

I used FitDay for a while, but switched to SparkPeople 'cause it looks better. It's not as easy to share, but I find it more easy to look at the dozen or so times a day I'm in it.

Wow, that's a lot of food all at once. I'm surprised at the sodium though....did you look at one breakfast, lunch, dinner & snack for the day? I would think it would add up to the RDA...at least, that's what the Jenny food does. Also surprised at no guidance, but hopefully they'll get back to you soon; I'm anxious to hear how it is! Blackjack is fun! Another card game I really like is Pai Gow poker (not really like the poker you see always on TV)...you can play for a long time without losing much money (usually!).

I meant to comment on your calorie question too....I'm 35, and 238lbs. Right now I'm eating 1500 cals a day. At 198 lbs, I'll drop to 1200 cals. I'm 5'10 also, so similar in height...

Glad to hear you had a good time at the casino. That's cool.

And that's a LOT of food from Nutisystem. I don't know where I would put it, much less know when to eat what.

As for the calories, you shouldn't eat below 1200 calories. As for what you should eat to lose, there are a lot of factors there. How much you exercise, who fast you want to lose the weight. I would recommend in the 1400-1500 range for now maybe? I know that's what sparkpeople had me at a while back. I changed my date for how long ot lose the weight though and my range shot up a lot.

Oh my God, Christine!!! That is a s**t load of food. You are going to save so much money on groceries, not to mention time cooking. Fantastic!!!

I don't know the answer to your question. I just know that no adult is supposed to eat less that 1200 calories per day.

Don't be overwhelmed by all the food! Having done N/S myself, you'll soon realize that you need to select a breakfast, lunch and dinner, plus 2 snacks. You need to incorporate your own veggies also. I beleive it works out to 1200 calories a day which is quite low, BUT should give you some serious results. THE TRICK IS you have to stick with it! Even on weekends, even when you and your friends are going out for dinner! Not easy!!! But give it your best shot for one month...and slowly that pile of food will dwindle down. It did for me. (P.S. I only did if for one month...couldn't handle all the soy, caused some 'digestion' issues for me!) good luck!!!

Hmm Im about 5'8 (I think) Im 173cms, My cal intake is to be 1250 for weightloss but Im not sure how right that is as everyone has different info??? Some say 1700cals and others 1500??? very confused I am!!

Thats a lot of food!!!! I hope they send you the right paperwork and at least a welcome!

I'm proud of you for your response re: the beotch at work. Sometimes it can be tough to be the bigger person.. but I commend you (and your hubby) for that good attitude! It will take you places!

I hope you get some instructions with that food soon! I hope they allow you to supplement with fresh vegies or salads.. cos I'd be concerned if you weren't eating any.

I'm saying 1500 calories for you.. no lower than 1350 at this stage.

I agree with 'Anonymous'...stick with it and you should see some great results. And drink tonnes of H2O with all that sodium. I wouldn't go below 1200 calories a day, especially if you're exercising (your walk to work counts)!
