Weigh Day

Well today is weigh in day and I am a little put out by my starting weight - but that's the key word - starting weight. Never again will I let it up this high again. I am trying to think of my excuses - death of a best friend, flu, and Christmas. Yeah - that'll do it. I am back on track and quite excited about the whole Easter Challenge. I have even been talking to co-workers about it - and have 1 girlfriend getting on board with me today so far.

Having troubles with Mac and resizing pictures for posting. So will have to do my homework on this. The Mac came with amazing editing software - but can't seem to figure out how to make a 10mb picture smaller! You guys certainly don't want to look at a picture that large of my feet!

The birds. Hmm. Well I did some re-search and here are the options. (1) You buy fake eggs - and replace the real eggs - and you hope that the mother accepts them. (2) You remove the real eggs and you boil them and then place them back in the nest and hope that they accept them. So at 10pm last night I was boiling finch eggs. Holy cow - that was something terrible to do. I wore gloves to be sure that I didn't get my scent on them - and then replaced them. The birds seem to be doing okay - and they are still taking turns sitting on them - so thats a good sign. I have some fake eggs lined up on Ebay - so we'll see. Was reading also that if you keep taking the eggs out - she will keep laying them - eventually killing the female because she is laying a new egg every day and its just too hard on her - and I certainly don't want to do that.
Looking forward to checking into everyone's weigh in's with the Easter Challenge. I really do draw strength from all of you. Picture of me was taken on December 31st at my girlfriends wedding.

Good going on weighing in. You are going to do awesome on the challenge......you will! I don't think you slid back much at all...I've slid considerably this fall/winter and not happy about it. I just need to get back to it but keep postponing it, not sure why.

Good luck, I'm sure you'll get the regain off in no time. On the bright side you didn't go up over 200, that would have been a big mental thing I think.

Aww not a problem! You will lose that weight in no time! Brush it off... just think, are at least still in the 199s!

Lol love the white socks!! Take care lady!

If it's any consolation... my "starting" weight is 176.8 lbs. more than yours. lol OMG... that is HORRIBLE! lol I just realized how freaking fat I really am. Yikes! lol

Anyway... don't feel bad. We all did crappy over the holidays... and you had a lot more to deal with than any of us did.

Good luck this week. I'm looking forward to seeing your loss posted next Monday. :)

You are doing a great job. I just keep telling myself that every day is a new day. I just keep trying.

You know....at least you didn't tuck your head into the sand and just ignore the scale (I've done that too many times to count).

I think it takes great courage to face up to the scale moving in the 'wrong' direction but still maintaining confidence and persistence and getting back on track. Good on you!

What courage you have facing the scale? I know I have had some gain based on how my clothes fit but I'm not going near that scale. LOL!!!

The important thing is that you are back on track and will soon have lost it all again and more...and obviously looking good while doing so.

Sounds as though the plastic eggs are the best option, that way you don't have to constantly think about things rotting on you. This is quite an education. Hadn't really thought about the logistics of birds and their eggs, etc.

Well done on getting the weigh in out of the way. I agree with Linds, your still under the 200 mark.

I didn't want to face the scales either - but once done it feels almost like a relief. the only way we go from here is down!

Replacing finch eggs and boiling finch eggs, I've never heard of such a thing!! WoW! And buying fake eggs on eBay! I've learned something!

Best wishes with all of that .. and your future weigh-in's too.

OH! Thank you for the blog message and letting me know something is in the post! I'm a seasoned overseas mail senderer. First having relatives overseas but also sending eBay things I sell overseas. Last item I sent to Canada was a little porcelain plate that had a Scottish clan name on it with the clan colour/flowers or something. Someone with the appropriate surname bought it! Thank you Christine! xox
