The service was tough. Alot of familiar faces though which brought me comfort. I needed to be there and I am really glad that I made it. The church seemed smaller than I remembered from growing up - but I guess it was because it was busting at the seams. The pews were still just as uncomfortable though - I smiled to myself though - the hard pews were the only reason why I stayed awake during Grandpa's sermons. It was nice to see my family - even though I will see them again next Friday for Christmas. The above picture - me in the purple hair and my dear friend lost in the Batman shirt. Good times and lots of smiles. It was Hallowe'en, I don't know what we were thinking. HA.
My brother called me out of the blue yesterday and wanted to take me for lunch and some shopping. Some days he's just a punk kid - but yesterday he came thru and knew that I needed to hang out with him. We sat over lunch and reminisced about growing up with our friend that passed. In this small town we grew up - my friends were his and vice versa. So although my brother doesn't seem to have a heart most days - he really came thru for me. It was nice. Above pictures taken many moons ago. Times like this make you realize to hold your family close. Don't know what I would do without him.
My Christmas shopping is done. They are stacked in the corner. We need to go thru them tonight to make sure we have everything we need. I don't want to realize the last minute that we forgot something. Planning to be a good girl food wise until the first Christmas dinner this coming Friday.

I am glad you got to spend time with your brother, I am sure that time helped ease the pain for a while.
I'm glad to hear you and your brother were able to be there for each other today. I agree, it is times like these we remember how life is so unpredictable and we must hold onto our loved ones close.
What a nice pic of the four of you at halloween. Thank goodness for the memories (and cameras).
It is such a tragedy... I even saw it on the news here in Toronto...
Hopefully the other driver will get life in prison...
soo soo sorry.. though I am glad to hear you are getting through it. Keep remembering the good times...
Both of my little brothers live far away from me. I'm very excited to see them next week. I got kinda jealous when my brother called today to talk to my husband... We're all growing up, I guess.
I am so sorry for your loss.
go the funky purple hair! ;) that was really nice of your brother :D
awesome that everyone in your family is there for you! Take care of yourself!
Glad you were able to go Christine and I hope it gave you some closure.
The Halloween photo is funny ... you were all young and carefree ... sweet...important to remember the good times you shared.
Your brother is a really cutie ... good to know he's a sweetheart too.
I wish you a love-filled Christmas.
Love the purple hair! I still stand strong to my comment that you have the best hair ever!!
Glad that your brother pulled through for you! Makes me really wish I had a brother (even if they are pains!!)
Hugs to you Christine.. Lifes to short isnt it... Take care and I am truely glad your brother was understanding enough to know when you needed him...
Im glad to hear you are doing better, must have been hard to stand and listen to the service. Thats the part I hate the most. Great about your brother though, makes you realise no what differences you have with your family that they are always there for you! xxx

You all looked like happy kids!! With lots of makeup!
I'm glad your brother took you out..and you had some quality time.
You're already a good girl in my book for being so organised with your gifts! Well done! :-)
Again, I'm sorry about your friend. It's nice that you had a nice time with your brother.
